Another belief Polish associated with St. John’s Eve, is that this night on the fern blooms for a brief moment the night somewhere deep in the palm forest. A legend says that whoever finds the elusive fern will soon find great treasures.
In Poland on August 15 is the Christian celebration of the Feast of the Assumption and is celebrated as the harvest. It is also known as the harvest festival of wheat Dozynki Pod Debami or the Festival under the Oaks, those who benefit to make garlands of cereals, nuts, and corn. The Polish-Americans in Milwaukee Maier gather in the park for a three-day festival of ethnic heritage.
